You know what?
Teachers may come, teachers may go, but what I say is more important, and I want anyone to be able to see it that may come upon this blog.
You know why?
Because I think it's important for people to see what other people truly think, and I show a lot of what I truly think in this blog.
It may be occasionally peppered with some profanities, but that just gets my point across in a more rapid manner.
Though I haven't felt the need to use them as of late.
So that's a plus.

If I need to, I can change it back. But for now, I think, it should be left open.

Maturity

I thought I might provide a little bit of insight from the perspective of a 14-year-old on this concept.
Maturity, you say?
Jacob, you already HAVE maturity! You have plenty! You sound like your average college student in these blog posts!
Okay, Ambiguous Response Robot. Sure I do. But does that really make me mature?
Sure, I could be intellectually mature- far more so than many people my age, and older. (this is still hypothetical, mind, i'm not going on an ego trip.) But what would that mean? Would I be able to integrate myself into a group of people that age? Would I be able to say that, though I am able to converse on the same level as they, I could boast the same accomplishments that they can? Can I say that I have finished high school, gone through college, and started med school?
No, I cannot.
Can the child who is in college, his peers decades ahead of him socially and physically, say that he truly knows as much as his colleagues? Sure, he can comprehend things as well as they, or he wouldn't be in college in the first place. But does he know as much? Does he understand himself as well as the other students do?

The child who looks at his peers with contempt looks upward- to the stars, to the sky, to god. He thinks, instead of maturing, truly. And should I be doing one or the other?
Can I do both?

I cannot say, with a straight face, that I am as socially mature as my peers. I can say that I am as intellectually mature, if not more so, but I could never say I can interact with people as well as my peers. I do not think before I speak, I do not speak before I act, and I do not understand myself.
Today marks my declaration of a transformation. No longer will I lie to myself about getting things done, letting the thought of work or completion of a task escape me shortly after its generation. No longer will I torture myself by wreaking havoc with my sleep schedule, leaving me unable to complete the daily tasks assigned to me.

Today, I declare that I will mature on my own, even if providence does not help me.
I will go and do the things people do not expect me to do, to reach out and grasp what I want by force.
I will know myself better than the world knows itself, and I will accomplish what I intend to because I wish to do so, not because the world demands it of me.

As corny as it sounds, as corny as it all may sound, I am going to mature, whether it be easy or not. Today, I declare that I shall abolish the old persona that inhabited my body, and replace it with an entirely new one- one that is capable of surviving on its own in the real world.

Privatization

If you're reading this post, you're one of the four people I invited to view this blog- the four people on the entirety of the internet to be able to do so.
You should be honored.

That aside, I wanted to comment on this occurrence.
I have decided to make this my only blog, per se, so you will be seeing a lot more posts here. Feel free to show your friends and whatnot, I don't care, just as long as it's not my teachers that see this. (Read: The principal reason I did this.)
And no, don't think I'm ashamed to put my political views out for the world to see. I think it's wonderful.
I just have to comment now on a blog, on blogger, for my english class, and I don't want my teacher seeing the profanity I unleash herein on a regular basis due to the state of the economy and/or the fact that Obama is talking to morons who can't run their countries.
So, indeed, I have also privatized all my other blogs in a similar manner.
And I should really go to bed, but I'm not going to.
I WON'T.
I refuse.
Instead, I have to tell you all about the atrociously long post I just made on the blog for said english class.
Seriously. We do class discussions every once in a while- wherein I must use my blogger ID- and I was absent for one, so I was making up the points; Instead of a one-paragraph response to the conversation in general, I did a one and a half-page response to one point made during the conversation.
How wonderful is that?

Although I can't type very well, as I had Advanced Biz Tech II this morning, where I am forced to use a five-year-old keyboard which has a malfunctioning shift key. And guess which finger presses that down? The pinky. THE WEAKEST FINGER. So now that finger hurts like hell and I can only type at 75 WPM or else it'll cramp up. Oh, woe is me.

More good news about Obama! He did an interview with an ISLAMIC TELEVISION STATION, saying we were ready for negotiations with the muslim world.

Watching Inaugural footage today- well, not inaugural, but there is a good deal of celebration and speaking happening already- I, for once, feel proud to see what's happening in my country.
And though I can't say yet that I am proud of my country, I will certainly say that it is MY country.

Conversation I

Alright, everyone.
As I stated in my earlier post, I want to see what everyone's ideas on fixing the situation in Africa are.
As I also stated before, there is a large power vacuum, and when you think about this, take into account the fact that most of the governments in place at the moment are totally dysfunctional- though not all are to the point of Eritrea and Somalia's governments.

Anyway, go ahead and discuss. If you need something to refute or to agree with to start off, refer to my previous post.

The Teenager's Manifesto

Alright, it's time for me to get going here.
I'm going to detail my entire political philosophy here, as best as I can.
And not only my political philosophy, mind, but also my moral philosophy(ies) and all else I can manage to illustrate here, and to just knock it out.

Alright, here goes. Why don't I start with Africa? That ties into a lot. Almost everything, actually.

So, here. Everyone knows that, today, most of Africa is either a barren wasteland (The Sahara, which used to be an ocean, a swamp, and a giant forest, and the Serengeti, which is only a half-barren wasteland) or a place with incredible amounts of natural resources where the interference of western society has caused a seizure of unbridled capitalism, which even the most zealous Libertarians will acknowledge will not work, especially without any form of sound governmental structure. (*cough* *cough* Cote d'Ivoire *cough* *cough*)
This, in my opinion, is from a combination of the three evils of western society: Missionary philosophy, Capitalism, and Greed. (the last two tie together somewhat, but Capitalism in itself is not evil, it just brings out the evil in people. Quite well, too. Though don't get me wrong, i'm not saying Socialism is a viable option. I'm just saying we're screwed.)
If any of you have ever read Things Fall Apart, a novel by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, you'll know what I mean here.
In that book, the main character's society is stable, and though they are occasionally at war with other tribes, life goes on, and they prosper without Western influence. However, soon, a group of Anglican missionaries come to the town with a translator, and set up shop. By the end of the book, a combination of the British economic system, the British religion, and the fact that these tribesmen are so eager to have what the British offer them (Whoa, see my analogy illustrate itself there?) systematically destroy the main character, Okonkwo's, precious society, and soon, those who still cling to what they knew before the Missionaries came find themselves involuntarily at war with those who have converted to this new religion, this new philosophy.
Why are they at war? Why do the converts attack?
Because A. God told them to, B. They did it in the name of the Queen, and C. they (the converts) found it necessary to protect their belief system, under the impression that they were operating under the premise of the One True God and the One True Philosophy.

This is what happened in Africa, and these people were led by Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Etc. to their own demise, as when these countries left, they left no sound governmental structure behind. They left those who they had almost educated behind- keyword there is ALMOST- to set up a government in the style of that of Europe, without true knowledge of how to do that or how to maintain it.
So now you end up with people running around Zaire, telling the populace that they are doing what God wants them to, and killing people, abducting children and turning them into soldiers, raping droves of women, etc.
Here, along with in Things Fall Apart, we see that religion is a very useful tool in manipulating the masses, whether to gain power or to "save souls" (*cough*).
And don't get me wrong, i'm not attacking faith. If you want to believe there's a God, fine. But read your goddamn bible first so you don't get led around by fucks like Pat Robertson or rebel groups in Congo, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, Palestine (that doesn't include Israel, though they may cite God as a driver for their actions), Iraq, Serbia, Armenia, Turkey, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, etc. (Oh, wait, everywhere. Save for Japan, they have the highest rate of non-religious people in the world. Go Japan.)

Now, this religion has been established, this way of controlling the populace, and Britain and the other colonizing countries used it well, because they'd had 1.6 to 1.8 thousand years of practice. However, when they left, there was a power vacuum. These people who had been converted were turned into sheep, basically- they were told there was a God, there was salvation for them, but they didn't know what the hell was going on. They were still learning, and the Europeans were wary to not teach them too much, lest they- GASP- do something of their OWN volition, instead of mining diamonds for money that the Europeans made seem like an extravagant amount.
You know, while they built huge mansions and went on safaris, shooting and killing all the wildlife.
So, the innovative people of Africa took power, and started funneling Africa's incredible amount of exports out at a controlled rate. Controlled by whom, you ask? Like, two or three people in Niger and the De Beers cartel.
Nice power structure, eh? A couple people get fucking rich with little to no effort, while the rest of the continent is condemned to wallow in hopeless ignorance, poverty, and starvation.
It's like an amplified version of the Middle East. Of course, in the Middle East, the same thing happened, but then we came in there and fucked it up again.

"Good, man!"
"Well, that's great. I want Jerusalem."
"Um, no. We're living there. You can come visit if you want. We're down with that."
"No, we're going to massacre your people now."
A THOUSAND YEARS LATER
"Hey, man. I see your Ottoman Empire fucked up."
"Fuck you, get out of here."
"HahahahaNO. Time to make some BORDERS! Ready, France?"
"READAH"
"Wait, why am I in a country with THEM?"
"Why am I in a country with THEM?"

And then we wonder why they hate us.)
What was that building up to, you ask? Absolutely nothing. But, on a side note, I did want to call a conference of all the intelligent persons out there who consider themselves my friends to have a little discussion about Africa and how to fix it in a later post. (I will make it, worry not.)
And, you know, there's the whole racism thing, but i've gone on an angry tirade about religion already. I'll wait a bit before I do that.

Now, there's a documentary, which accompanies a wonderful book, by the journalist Kevin Sites. It's called In the Hot Zone- totally generic name, yeah- but it's a wonderful documentary, and opened my eyes to so much. I was literally crying at some points of the film, just because I had finally seen what horrors the human race was capable of. You can view the documentary here, for free: http://hotzone.yahoo.com/
It's truly an eye-opener. For those of you who do not yet consider yourselves cynics, or think that your life is better spent helping yourself or your country than these people, all across the world, who have so much less than we do and live in constant fear of death, rape, and insurmountable loss, you must watch this video. It's a requirement. Your entire personal philosophy will change. Even if you don't like Kevin Sites, if you don't like his style of reporting, the footage in this documentary is just... it's too much to ignore. The reporter himself fades out, it seems, when you look at what is happening around him. He travels to Lebanon and Israel and shows the reality of the situation there- he shows the death and the tragedy on both sides, and shows that, unless one side or the other stops, it will continue.
And there's no sign either will- both have a lot to lose if they do.
That's another thing. The lot of you are a very intelligent bunch, and I'd like to have group conversations with all of you about this kind of thing. How would we fix this? How would we prevent this widespread death, throughout Asia Minor, Africa, and Asia itself?
That's beside the point, though, i'll make a post for that in a bit.

Anyway, what else was I going to say?
Oh, yes, moral philosophy.

Let's start with this example.
My mother's good friend in Maine has a daughter. (Wow, how insightful of me!) She came over to stay with us one... September, I think it was.
She was Vegan, and though it is an admirable thing to be Vegan, in my experience I have found no one able to actually hold out whilst undergoing a Vegan diet.
Seriously, all she ate was Tofu. And though I love Tofu more than anything, if all you eat is Tofu, it kinda spoils the whole thing for you.
But anyway- she had an idealistic vision. If we could all live solely on the fruits of our own labor, and not those of animals, we could free so much space for society to progress in, we could do so much more with the energy we expend on animals. Not only that, we could stop slaughtering thousands of them as well. Wouldn't that be nice?
Well, the thing is, though I find it admirable- it's not viable. Yet. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a vegetarian society? All vegetarian? No meat-eaters? We could progress so much faster.
But people aren't ready.
The United States is ready commercially, ready technologically, but is it socially? Can the people of the United States wrap their tiny little brains around the fact that they won't be able to eat steak?
(Can they wrap their tiny little brains around much?)
So, Jacob, you say, why, then, do you eat meat?
The answer to that is that I only eat meat that is presented to me. I don't buy meat of my own volition. When I'm at a restaurant, I never order a hamburger. occasionally, I will order seafood, but hey. Clams have no brains.
But still, meat is murder, right? Right. It is. But really, when they're already murdered, and the meat has already been bought, what are you to do? I have been desensitized to the fact that meat is the flesh of an animal by the society that pervades my existence, and I can eat it just fine. Accusing me of being a horrible carnivore is like accusing Jesus of being a professional marketplace-wrecker. He only did it once, OK? Like that, I only eat meat occasionally, and I never do it of my own volition. There is nothing I can do to stop my father from buying steaks. I can tell him a thousand times that I despise steak, and the rim of fat around the edges makes me want to vomit, but his behavior is like that of my dear reader Vid's parents, who want so badly to stuff her full of chocolates. Of course, they want to stuff full of chocolates all who set foot into her house, and I don't really mind being presented with high-quality truffles, to be honest. But still, it's a matter of perception.
So, TL;DR- A vegan world would be a perfect one, of course. It's not viable yet, even for those few countries which can pull it off at the moment, because [people are dumbasses]. But we have to accept that and move on, and try to eliminate the evils in this world which prevent all from having the ability to A. go vegetarian anyway, B. speak their mind and protest the fact that people eat meat without being STIFLED BY THEIR GOVERNMENTS, C. the fact that people are starving from lack of ability to eat ANYTHING- I'd eat meat if I was a vegetarian, if I had no other choice. It's a matter of survival.

OK, meat's out of the way... um. Racism.
Shit, I don't want to do this. Haven't I already done this somewhere?

My curiosity led me to decide to translate a bunch of weird things in spanish I saw on DeviantArt the other day, including a Naruto comic, (shut up) and I wanted to see what "Haber" meant, as it was in the dictionary meaning the same thing as "Tener", which means "To Have". However, "Haber" means "To have" in the sense that "I have done it", whereas Tener means "to have something."
As it turns out, there's a whole goddamned verb tense concerning the word Haber.
So guess who just learned a whole new verb tense, leaping another month ahead of the curriculum?

Yes, I have discovered that traveling the halls of Arapahoe High School at lunch lip-synching to the words of the masterpiece "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey is the single most gratifying thing in the history of mankind.
Also, air guitar in front of the entire cafeteria, doing the solo from said song, however embarassing it may be to others, is absolutely exhilarating for me.
My new New Year's Resolution: Make a fool out of yourself on a daily basis. Be sure of this.

An Epiphany

As I said before, many times, this blog is to document, more than anything else, the evolution of my political philosophy. Well, today, a big part of that evolved.
When I read a quote- I can't remember by whom- about the people governing themselves (No, it wasn't Thomas Jefferson), I went into a state of deep thought. Why, you ask? I don't know. But here are the results.
This may seem small and insignificant to you, the reader, but it is quite influential to me.
Liberals have faith in the people. True liberals, I mean, not hypocritical Democratic liberals or the Canadian Liberal Party. No, I mean Liberals, the people who want to get rid of government interference in life without going so far as to be Libertarian and "abolish the Fed" and whatnot because they have a strange infatuation with the Gold Standard. No, Liberals have faith in the people because they see good in them. But I question that. Can you have a government run by people divided amongst themselves, who hate their brethren because of religion and other miniscule, unimportant things? Can you trust those people to make the right decision? The answer is that no, you can't. When a nation is divided so, people will take advantage of it and fool people on either side to think that THEIR platform is what the people agree with, when it's not. Take Bush, for example. He's saying he's a true conservative, right? What conservative wholeheartedly supports a $700B BAILOUT? That, amigos, is no conservative- though only the hardcore conservative (Wait, no, Republican) base supports him now.
Stateists, Socialists, Republicans, Etc. believe that people can't learn things on their own, and that to give them all the rights that they SHOULD have would send the nation into chaos. And I see where they're coming from- peace and prosperity are indeed difficult things to come by in this world, and where we have found it, we should work to keep it. But that's not the issue.
The founding fathers made a government, this one, allowing the people to govern themselves, and giving everyone a say in the goings-on of their government. Of course, there's rules. The Constitution is a foundation for what the United States is today, but here's the thing- IT CAN BE CHANGED.
The Founding Fathers knew that the people at that time were mostly uneducated (see modern Texas for a reference), but they knew that they deserved rights as everyone else should. What did they do? They set up a judicial system to represent all, and a court system to ensure that rights were protected without infringing upon those of others.
What philosophy is that, I ask you? Liberal or Conservative? Neither.
The genius of those who created this country is that they recognized the fact that neither the Liberal nor the Conservative viewpoint would work on its own. Neither is capable of it. But, they did see the values of both viewpoints. What did they do, then? They found a way to let the people teach themselves. Let the people revise their Constitution as they saw fit through time. Let them revise their laws, let them challenge it all.
But today, our legislative and judicial systems border on the extremes on each side. Party favoritism runs rampant throughout the country, not the true interest in the furthering of the country's ideals that the Founding Fathers intended.
We must find a balance in order to maintain the prosperity of this nation. We must allow the people to gradually educate themselves, for all to see that all are equal, before we grant equal rights, or they will soon be deprived of them. (See California, Prop. 8) We must find ways to stop the partisan bickering, or we will never get anywhere. Politics does not further a nation; Unity does. No campaign, not even Obama's incredibly successful one (In which I volunteered), can match the power of a people united against an enemy. (Or two. See WWII.)
Those like Ann Coulter and, at times, myself, throwing insults everywhere at all who are able to take them, are destroying this country. (Especially Ann Coulter. Note that I am not saying the scale of my offenses are anywhere NEAR hers.) We must find a way to stop hating, to start understanding each other, or we will never get anywhere.

Legislation should not be something to grant equal rights. It should not be something to teach the populace a lesson, or to protect them. The people in themselves are wise- they just, at times, refuse to be educated. Legislation should be something we use to teach the people, not to punish them or enrage them.
If it were my choice, there would be no Republican or Democratic party. There would be people running using public funding, showing their ideas to the whole world, and there would be a nation of people ready to listen to them.

Of course I would write a little rant about the economy eventually. And not just a little thing that says "OH GOD WE'RE FUCKING EVERYTHING UP". No, today I plan to yell at some people in particular, some people who are trying to create rapid, sudden changes in the stock market for their own benefit. Or at least, that's the only reason that I can see that anyone would go around doing this.
Think about it. Whose idea was it to run around the NYSE screaming "HEY EVERYBODY! IT'S OFFICIAL! WE'RE IN A RECESSION NOW!" The FUCK? This is an economy based on how confident we are, not on how we're actually doing. If it were the latter, it would be a stable economy. But NOOOOOOOO. Some stupid fuckwits have to run around the trading room on Wall Street screaming "BUY! BUY! SELL! SELL!" Those people have NO idea of the significance of their actions.
And now, I go on to question their mortal character. Who in the world would do that? Would YOU go around, collapsing companies, wrecking the global economy, and depriving people of their jobs? Who would take peoples' money away, make capital vanish in an instant, or send people who invested in those companies that THEY are making go bankrupt onto the streets?
And the media. When these people run around the NYSE shouting this bullshit, manipulating the stock market in their own interests, the media trumpets their idiocy like the words of Jesus himself. Why would they do this? Because they don't care. Throughout the ages, economic turmoil has not TOUCHED the media- why? because they benefit from it. those greedy bastards convince people to tune in by giving them horrible or wonderful news each day, depending on what happened the days preceding.
TL;DR- america sucks, let's all jump in the sea.

Now, let's start out by detailing MY religious beliefs.
But first, let's help you imbeciles out here to understand the true definition of Atheism.
There is strong atheism (I know for sure there is no god), moderate atheism (there's almost certainly no god.) weak atheism (there's probably no god, but i base my life upon the fact that he's not there) and agnosticism (I'm not sure either way. I haven't decided yet.).
I am a moderate atheist. To me, that is the only viable position for someone of my beliefs. You cannot say that there is surely no god, because there is no evidence for that. You cannot say there IS a god, either, as there is no evidence for it. You can look up in the sky and think "wow, this couldn't have just happened by chance" and decide that there's probably a god, but you can't say that there IS a god. the fact that you think the universe could not have arisen by chance doesn't mean that it's automatically true. To me, saying that there is no god is the same as saying there is one- it's the same idiotic train of thought, with no supporting evidence.

Well, i was going to make a rant here to illustrate the flaws of Christian philosophy, but it seems i've already done that in a chat with my good friend Kenneth.

"Critique of Pure Reason" by Immanuel Kant of Prussia.
Okay, never mind. The first page of this book is damn boring and has no substance besides a little superfluous rant about the ancient relevance of Metaphysics.

Das Capital, by Karl Marx.

Marx makes a point of illustrating his atheism, and immediately justifying it before justifying anything else. I'll give him points for tying it into other parts of his philosophy, and illustrating how memes such as Christianity itself, or the very notion of god, the market, or anything else for that matter, rule the human mind as a whole. And I don't deny this- but this was, perhaps where Marx's flaws began. He felt that his mind was not ruled by the memes that had shaped even his own thought process, and thought that he could 'free' the rest of the human race in the same way he had 'freed' himself. You see, Marx thought that the ideas that had shaped his thought process were irrelevant to him- that he was above them, in a way, when he forgot that they were what made him think in the way that he did, and that no human would ever be free from memes, as they are the only way we can express ideas. To suppress those thoughts is to suppress human thought as a whole.
Marx says that we must stop being slaves to our thoughts- that we, the creators, should no longer obey the creations. But those creations are not independent of us- they are the embodiment of our thoughts as a whole! We create them in order to guide us and our society when we humans, burdened by the limitations of death and such, cannot extend our ideas in the original sense to the entirety of humankind! We will always be slaves to our creation, because they are the embodiment of our thoughts, and without our thoughts we are nothing.
So take THAT, Karl. I just debunk'd your philosophical treatise.
Well, i'm sure you'd have a rebuttal were you here today, but i, sadly, don't live in 1844, so i can't really have much of a conversation with you, now can I?

Don't get me wrong; I'm an Obama supporter. However, I don't necessarily agree with all his policies, as he does tend to conform to the foreign policies used by most members of the Democratic party. Though he's not a 'gun-totin' christian frum texus' like our Oh So Wonderful President, he's still a pretty awesome guy.
Anyway, I think that people seem to have forgotten Bill Clinton completely screwing the whole world over (wars in somalia and the balkans, both of which people in America seem to have conveniently forgotten about, save for die-hard fans of Black Hawk Down) and setting us up for great fun later on down the road.
Now, really. Why in the world should anyone support either the Democratic party (Men in suits running around the world shooting things) OR the Republican party ("Conservatives" pretending to be fundamentalists running around in Washington fucking male interns)? Answer: If you think EITHER of these parties are going to represent anything CLOSE to your political beliefs in Washington, you're dead wrong, whether you be Conservative, Liberal, Ted Haggard, (Okay, maybe Ted Haggard) Libertarian, or whatever else.
Here, let me explain what I mean. Some of you may be going "What's this complacent little prick talking about? I'm just fine with my party, thank you very much!" Well, that's because you're a sheep. I know I sound like the average 20-something politically active college student in saying that, but YOU ARE.
Anyway, onto my little analysis here.
The Republican and Democratic parties are both contradictory in themselves. Liberals tend to support the Democrats, and Conservatives tend to support the Republicans. But that doesn't make any sense!
First off, the Democrats are generally fairly fiscally conservative, though they're not afraid to pass money around once in a while. The thing that really differentiates them from the Republicans, as economic policies in both parties tend to fluctuate with the passing of time, is their moral standing. Now, really, when you look at it, the party with the big-government economic stance should be more restrictive when it comes to Moral issues, right? (Death penalty, abortion, gay marriage) Well, no. They're more liberal when it comes to this. But then they introduce the Bailout bill and piss all of America, save for Wall Street, off, by borrowing an extra $700B from China and putting MY generation in debt to that shithole for the next TWELVE CENTURIES.

Instead of doing that, why don't you stupid fuckers concentrate on REGULATING the stock market industry? I'm sure that if you told ANYONE about Investment Bankers taking risks with the money of the people, they would support larger restrictions on Wall Street. But NOOOOO. Neither party did that in the last DECADE AND A HALF. Why? BECAUSE THEY'RE GREEDY SCUM OF THE EARTH.
The Republicans are even WORSE than this. I'm sure you all know this, but just as an introduction to the GOP for any foreigners reading this... The Grand Old Party, as it's called, or the Republican party, is a bunch of "good christian men and women" trying to "defend the beliefs of the silent majority" by way of fucking male interns and continually proposing amendments to the Constitution in order to ban gay marriage. This is the only issue they ever focus on, as their hypocrisy is exposed whenever they debate any other policy, such as economics.
Now, if you look at it the right way, the Moral policies of Republicans seem almost Orwellian in nature. However, they claim to be "Fiscal Conservatives". I don't even need to put a link to the Wikipedia page for Bullshit there, do I? The only one who was actually a fiscal conservative was Ronald "Fuck The Poor, Kill The Commies" Reagan. And, of course, he instituted Laissez-Faire. We all know how well THAT whole thing would have gone if we let it play out. The rest of them have been spending their asses off, building megachurches all across the nation for no discernable reason. (Not really, but how ELSE do all the Republican presidents keep putting us in trillions of dollars of debt? I can't quite figure it out.)
Let's compare the near-fascist moral policies to the "fiscal conservative" economic policies of the Republican party.
WHAT THE FUCK?
I consider myself a real conservative, to be honest- not insofar as I would call myself a Libertarian, but I am a conservative. I think government's role is to stop business from fucking everyone up, (Stricter quality control, more management of Wall Street, expansion of the FDA) and to leave everyone else the hell alone. (E.G. Gays can marry, people can have abortions, we have an actually SOLID immigration policy, senators don't fuck underage males) As I am also a progressive, I think that the large amounts of tax revenue we would have, were we NOT running around the world shooting people in the face for no discernable reason and building nuclear weapons just in case we need to destroy the world at any given moment, should be used to fund scientific research and help along societal progress.
That's not socialism, folks. It's called "giving your extra money to charity". I know that, as most of you live in Амерiка, you wouldn't UNDERSTAND that concept, and would be afraid of it, as you think it represents the Red Menace (GASP), but it's really a GOOD THING TO DO. Bill Gates does it. He's the largest philanthropist in America, and he still can't give it all away, so he keeps on doing it.
Now, those of us that live in $5,000,000 homes can at least afford to go to a fucking $3,000,000 homes and, even if you're not going to give it to charity, SAVE IT FOR YOUR KIDS or something, you know, INTELLIGENT like that. But that's another rant for another day.
Anyway. Those are my basic political beliefs. Keep in mind they're still being refined, so you won't see them pop up again in that exact form, unless I somehow feel the need to write them out again in the next week or so.
And... Where was I... Oh, yeah. Third-Party candidates.
Now, those of us who are REAL conservatives have no choice but to support smug one-issue douches, libertarians, or old guys who have no chance of winning. So, basically, we're fucked over by this system where hypocrites rule and people vote for them because of gay marriage, abortion, and the color of a candidate's skin.
My message to the American people: WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING YOU GODDAMN IDIOTS? WAKE UP ALREADY SO THE REST OF US, WITH ACTUAL OPINIONS, CAN HAVE A SAY IN THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.

I think I wrote a whole paper on this subject. I couldn't turn it in for anything, of course, due to my incredibly often usage of profanity, but still. That's pretty awesome.

This country isn't as bad as I'd thought.

I've not said the pledge of allegiance since first grade, when I decided that I didn't believe in God, and thought it was ridiculous to say that only THIS country was under God, regardless, as the whole world would be as well. My friends still said it, every morning, as they stood outside our elementary school with their hearts on their chests.
Soon, others took my lead. They thought the rhetoric of the Pledge of Allegiance ridiculous as well, and I began to form my own little social clique in Elementary school. Oh, what fun it was.

Was God not mentioned in the pledge, I would have said it in school this past week. The fact that Americans could vote for a black man in the hopes that he would become president was incredible to me, and when I saw the world's reaction to Barack Obama's election, I could not restrain myself, and I finally let out a scream of joy. There is nothing in the entire world more pleasurable for me than to see my country succeed, no matter how backwards it may seem at times. When I was a young, young child (think around five), the only child in my kindergarten class interested in politics, I was always comfortable, and I always felt secure because I knew our country had an economic surplus, my parents were confident in the president (that was enough for me, at the time), and everyone I knew had no objections. Soon after, everyone I knew was in opposition to the president, and I slowly began to lose faith in the people of this country.
Not that I was becoming less confident in the intelligence of the American People simply because of Bush's election- I didn't even know who he WAS, let alone his policies. I just knew that he was a change from what I knew was good for the country, and from what I had known since my birth.

Soon after, I began to gain what I will call an awareness of what was happening around me. This awareness gave me the ability to see that there were people who actively rejected all proven facts, choosing to cite things such as the bible as "evidence". I really, truly began to think to myself that Americans were a bunch of racist, bible-thumping idiots who lived in the Midwest (And Arapahoe County, Colorado). Of course, I knew not everyone was racist, and that not everyone was a fundamentalist (regular trips to Boulder ensured that I recognized the presence of reasonable people in the world), but that does not eliminate the mental image that was beginning to form in the back of my mind, with or without my consent to its presence.

Today, I can honestly say that Americans have made the right choice. They chose a woman and a black man over the pompous white asshole (John Edwards) whose pappy worked in a factory all day, et al., and chose the black man over the other pompous white asshole (McCain, though not quite as pompous as Edwards). They have reconstructed their global ties simply by electing Barack Obama- such is the power of this man. Not just the color of his sking, but the policies he represents, and the change he will bring to the world stage. The fact that Americans could vote for a black man is still shocking and incredibly wonderful to me, but the fact that they could vote for one who represents such a radical change from what they've been accustomed to over the past eight years is absolutely mind-blowing for me. And today, with my confidence in the American people mostly (The damage has been done, Jesus Camp.) restored, I am proud to say that I am an American.
And though I will not say the pledge of allegiance, I can honestly say that, for once in my life, I feel that I want to.

That was the single most well-constructed political advertisement i've ever seen.

Political Overhaul

It's time for a real change. I'm saying that because Obama and McCain keep saying those exact words, without ANY substance behind them. Obama is working for what he believes as change, but his mindset is stuck in the 20th century, and McCain's is in the 17th.

Let's get this straight first. This is NOT a judeo-christian nation, it never has been, and it never shall be. Under the United States Constitution, no matter how much the Supreme Court may say otherwise, ALL PEOPLE are entitled to live as they please. They are not entitled to impose their will completely over others, as that would infringe upon those others' rights. Christians can't go saying that "Gays can't marry because it harms the family and blah blah blah my face is covered in my own shit", nor can they ban abortion. Democrats can't ban all guns, but they should ban guns for ALL with a criminal record of violence of ANY sort, or mental instability. That said, here's what I wanted to state in the first place:

This nation is crumbling. As Abraham Lincoln said, "A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand." The constant fluctuation between far-right and far-left policies is destroying the structure of this nation, constantly infuriating more and more voters, driving them to discard their affiliation with any party, and many times discard their vote. I said before, "It's time for a real change." Everyone's saying this nowadays. But who's doing it? No one.
Let me tell you something: during the Age of Industrialization, all the politicians constantly said that they were running for change. They never were- they were running for the Trust Lobbyists behind them. It was not until the idea of change was universally accepted that true reformers began to prosper. After the Democratic and Republican parties had found their niches, namely leftist policies and conservative policies, respectively, reforms simply stopped. Trusts were not busted, no more great wars were fought, and the country coasted for a time, the 1920s, before crashing their entire economy due to overconfidence in the reliability of those withdrawing loans for stocks.
Reforms have now begun again, though they are achieving the opposite of that which they are supposed to. Bill Clinton's administration started a housing bubble that has now burst, and the Republican policies of George W. Bush have ensured that there is no soft spot to land on for the people of the United States. Both Barack Obama and John McCain are completely wrong when it comes to economic policy- it's time for a complete overhaul. When people were forced to pay substantial down payments on their homes, there was a security, and a safety net that helped them stay in their house. Now that the government has deregulated those mortgages and house payments in general, the entire country is suffering.
Let me tell you this; the country cannot stand another bubble bursting like this. Our standing in the world is falling, our relations with other nations deteriorating, and now our economy is falling out from under us. And what do the politicos propose? That we deregulate the system further- give the businesses that fucked America up the ass in the first place 700 billion dollars, hoping they won't die and that somehow they'll pay us back so we won't be stuck in debt to the Chinese for the next 70 years.
We need economic regulation. We need to lower tax rates on individuals, lower them for small businesses, and increase them substantially for the rich and for large businesses, such as JPMorganChase, which has now bought Washington Mutual and is getting ready to buy more banks. There has been a change in American politics lately, so that the middle class is getting fucked over by the Republicans, who they're told to vote for by their pastors because they don't support Gay Marriage or whatnot. That's bullshit. It's time for a party that everyone can agree with, and that doesn't mess with social issues. We have to leave that to the people- let THEM vote on these things, instead of the elected senators. It's time to stop being a pussy Republic, and give some things to the people of the United States of America.

Here's what I'm proposing, so that people can understand me amidst the fluff.

1. Stop putting fluff everywhere so people can at least understand the bullshit that comes out of your mouth.

2. Stop the attack ads- people don't like them, they don't increase the confidence of the people in either candidate, and they disgust everyone.

3. Stop the damned golden parachutes. We should be taxing the top 1%, not the bottom 50%. These people have the money- the top .1% of people in our country have more assets than most countries. We should be harnessing that instead of beating the shit out of the lower and middle class and shaking their lunch money out of their pockets.

4. Stop the big businesses. We need to have a bunch of small businesses in our economy, so that we don't need to tax the crap out of them and let the big businesses expand as much as they want. John McCain's attack ads are saying that "...A big government casts a shadow on us all...", but what they're doing is casting a shadow over the little man, and letting mister Corporate Executive have his way with the entire country.

5. Overhaul the way Government thinks about spending. Let me explain what I mean in further detail here:
For example, the No Child Left Behind act has made it so that some damn good things can happen in the nation's school system, but it's cut so much federal funding from schools that America's public schools can't actually IMPLEMENT any change. Were we to discard the policy instituted that we should "reward schools that improve", and instead lift up the schools that are struggling, who can't go on without federal and state funding, we could have a balanced school system, where all schools were like the one I go to- number 2 in the state, a beautiful campus, open-campus lunch, etc. We spend so much money on the Iraq War, which is totally and completely unnecessary, I might add, that we, in essence, leave behind the entire nation's school system, and thus EVERY child.
Along with this, we are also suffocating small businesses, who can't survive due to huge taxes upon small businesses and the masses, who serve as the businesses' form of income. with prices for everything skyrocketing (save for property), we can't have this type of policy, where we let the big people have all the money, and we don't help the little guy. Isn't that what Government is for, after all? To help the masses? Wasn't that the sole reason that Thomas Jefferson wrote the American Constitution the way he did? He knew that the rights of the people needed protecting, as the government of Britain was simply protecting the rights of Nobles. Now we're becoming what the Founding Fathers despised so much.
We can change this. This blends in perfectly with my next point:

6. American foreign policy needs to be completely re-done. Instead of going around making wars with whomever we don't like, we need to go into a policy of isolationism. We don't need to go out and bomb the shit of anyone and everyone who stands in our way.
They're all standing in our path, and the latest strategy has been to shoot them and just step over them on our way along the path. I suggest that we change directions, and avoid these people. When they pull out their guns and follow us back (e.g. Al Qaeda), they find that we're wearing SEVEN LAYERS OF KEVLAR.
What i'm saying witht that metaphor is that we need to forget about these people. We need to disregard the Terrorists, because what they're doing is just vying for attention. To eliminate this, we need to make our system impervious to terrorist activity. Right now, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is a bunch of bumbling idiots, and any terrorist who really wanted to could break through airport security. I bought a glass globe in an airport gift shop on a recent trip to our nation's capital, and it took the TSA agents at the security checkpoint five minutes to figure out what it was, and I had to aid them in deciphering the true purpose of the mysterious round object in my backpack.
(Hint: Bombs aren't round in real life. That's just Looney Tunes.)
We need a better security administration, we need a level-headed leader, and we need to stay the fuck out of other people's business. When we have a problem with someone, we don't start a war. What we need to do is be more like Saudi Arabia and the nations of OPEC, or even China. When we do something they don't like, they just stop sending us shit, and we choke to death. Since we're a consumer nation now, instead of a producing nation like we had been up until the 1990s, we can't just stop buying from them! We wouldn't survive. We need them, but they don't need us. They always have the rest of the world. (That doesn't hold true for China, of course, since we really need each other, but they can still tighten their grip and we can't do a damned thing about it.)
We need to start producing our own goods and our own energy. We need to stop relying on the world to give us what we want- we need to give THEM what they NEED. We have the power to do so- we're the largest agricultural nation on the face of the planet Earth, and the largest to ever have existed because of our technological prowess. We can convert that power into not only agricultural influence, but also into energy conversion, into material synthesis, etc.
Which brings me to my next (and probably final- yes, i know you're disappointed.) point.

7. We need to start influencing new technology.
Japan is kicking the shit out of us. So is China. Hell, so is SWEDEN. How is SWEDEN, a country with NO real natural resources, save for COLD and STONE, beating US, the most fertile nation on the face of the Earth?
Because our government is insane and is driving everyone off. no one wants to have their workers here anymore- they can't afford it. No one wants to do research here anymore- they can't get a grant. The only thing we're good for anymore is going to College and selling shit to the American People, who, at this point, will buy anything. (disagree? Explain the existence, then, of this site: http://www.stupid.com/index.html They don't produce their own products. People do that anyway, because people actually BUY "ZIT POPPER CANDY".) We need to outsmart Japan, Sweden, and China. We need to start with THIS generation, by overhauling our public school system, leaving our colleges intact, and making it so that THIS country's students go to THIS country's colleges, which are by far the best in the world. (This isn't a form of nationalism here. Check the statistics.)
We need to have scientists making the next ASIMO. We need to have people doing Stem-Cell Research. We need to have people finding a cure for cancer. WE'RE NOT DOING ANY OF THOSE THINGS!

People no longer see what they need to do to change the world- they no longer pay attention to what is happening in the world. The conflict in Georgia barely drew any attention, because we were too busy paying attention to Michael Phelps, who isn't going to be mentioned in any conversations a year from now. No one's going to care.
It's time to reform the "reformers". It's time for a new party, one that fights for the people, and doesn't give a damn about the social issues- these should be on national ballots, not decided by members of Congress, or the President, elected by the Electoral College, a faulty representation of the will of the American People.
It's time for a real change.

Here's something I think people need to realize-
Sarah Palin is NOT running for President. There is no reason for the intense media coverage she's received thus far, and though I disagree with her policies completely and am terrified of her even being as close to the White House (and thus the launch codes for the country's ICBMs) as the Vice President's office, I don't think she deserves the attacking the media has unleashed upon her recently. No one does.
I mean, for god's sake, people, she didn't even know what the Vice President did until McCain contacted her! She's obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. Let her hang with the other senile fool on the ticket, and everything will turn out alright. They can have conversations about how wrong abortion is instead of campaign.
But no one deserves the kind of attacking she's been receiving as of late. Not even someone as deluded as she.

Though she is hypocritical, that deserves to simply be pointed out. When she opposes birth control and sex outside marriage and her daughter comes up with her belly sticking out as far as she is tall, that shouldn't matter to the campaign. Her daughter is neutral territory, as are the children of all the candidates. (Except Biden's kid, who can fight for himself now. But I doubt people will be insulting him anyway.)

And also, another thing. Palin isn't running for the damned presidency! STOP FOCUSING ON HER! This isn't a Biden/Obama Palin/McCain race. It's the other way around. Nobody will know Biden even EXISTS after Obama's first year in office. (Yes. Obama. Deal.) So why focus on the VPs now? They're just instituted to revamp the presidential candidates' images and get votes.

Though some feel McCain's gonna die in his next term, I give you a warning: HE WON'T. Have you SEEN his mom? She's 93 (i think. it's in her early 90's), and she looks better than Johnny does! I mean, jesus. Look her up. It's insane. If he has those genes, he's not going anywhere soon.

All in all, I say to the American people and the American media: LAY OFF THE VP'S. We want to hear about what Obama and McCain are doing, about the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, the economy, and what's happening in the Middle East.

Apparently, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard edited their photos because they suck at missile launching.
Here's what the resident (self-labeled) redneck had to say about it.

49 of 50 = 98% - Hoosier redneck firework launch success rate (and I was drinkin beer, it was in the dark, all of my supplies were imported from China, and cost under $100)

I'm not understating the importance of the fact that Iran now has working, potential warhead-carrying missiles, but the fact that their attempt to impress the rest of the world failed so miserably.

Oh, well. I guess i'll complain some more.
Here's something complaint-worthy.

After 12 years of investigation, the police involved in the JonBenet Ramsey case have FINALLY cleared her parents of any wrongdoing. Why on earth are they going so slow- and why are they still investigating after 12 years and no promising leads?

BECAUSE OF THE MEDIA.

I know, i sound like a conspiracy theorist now. Go ahead and go look at some other blog if you think i'm crazy.

There have been no leads, as i've said, in a long time, and yet police still continue to investigate the murder of one little girl in northern colorado. Why? Because people all across the country are watching them, and the reason those people are watching coverage of this case is because the media chooses to. I know this is a capitalistic society, and they have to market products that the populace will go for, but why this one? Why can't they just follow a pregnant celebrity (hopefully not Britney Spears again) around for a while to get their kicks? is it THAT much to ask to stop covering this case? And back a couple years ago with that John Mark Karr guy. I think that one man got more news coverage than any other previously unknown man has ever received just by admitting to a crime. Except for perhaps Lee Harvey Oswald. But the media was justified in covering that case. Why this one? triple murders occur all the time, every day, across the nation, and yet when one little rich girl dies, the entirety of the 300 million+ people in the united states turn their heads to see what's happening. People barely even care when an adult, or even several, are killed, and their ignorance is shown by the 20-second segments for even such heinous crimes as murder and rape on the local news. but one small girl's murder- that gets 12 YEARS of coverage? I guarantee you, if it had not been covered with such ferocity as the media has displayed thus far, the police would have discontinued the JonBenet Ramsey case due to LACK OF EVIDENCE.

Oh, well. I know it's a sensitive subject. But someone needs to say it.

I cannot believe some people. Apparently, animal rights demonstrators (whose message i understand, don't get me wrong) have begun to assault the homes of researchers who perform experiments on animals. WHY? You don't prove a point by defacing someone's property. You just make yourself, your organization, and your cause, all at the same time, look horrible. I can sympathize with the message of these activists, but if they're trying to get ahead, someone should point out to them that this won't help.Also, i am becoming steadily more angry at the Associated Press for their hideous coverage of Barack Obama's recent activities, with articles that lead readers to presume Obama will completely revamp his Iraq timetable, opposes the GLBT (Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender) (Yes, i memorize acronyms for no good reason) movement with a fervor. Upon further research on my own part, i realized that Obama was only supporting a flexibility he had allowed himself since the beginning of the 2008 presidential race, and stating that he would change his Iraq withdrawal plan if advised to do so by generals in Iraq, and that he was in favor of Civil Unions throughout the nation, but not Gay Marriage. (Frankly, i support gay marriage, but i don't think it would be feasible to introduce it nationwide at the moment, due to the ever-present bigotry of the citizens of this fine, fine nation. So i still support Obama, even though he doesn't support gay marriage.)

WATER ON MARS.

As i've said on my other blog, You Fail It, there is now substantial evidence for the existence of water on Mars. This is absoluetly awesome. Even if there is not life, this could be enough evidence to suggest the existence of water on planetoids such as Titan, which, by way of the Greenhouse effect, (discovered by our good friend Carl Sagan, who is the coolest person ever) could be as warm or warmer than Earth. Though I am completely positive we won't find more than a few bacteria on Mars at the most, (i'm not saying we will, i'm just saying that's all we would find should we find anything) this could be enough to serve as reason to look at Titan, where we may even find methane-based life if we look hard enough. (or if it's chemically possible. LOL. I'm not a chemist. I don't know.)
TL;DR- Earth is obsolete, go live on Mars.

Immigration

Here's something good- illegal immigration has slowed down a lot over the past couple months. I'm not saying this because i'm opposed to illegal immigration- in fact, i'm all for it, should the person immigrating have a good reason (such as not being able to support themselves/their families) for coming to this country. No, the reason i'm happy is that developing countries' economies are growing, so there's less of a need for illegal immigration. Was this a perfect world, no one would HAVE to come over to the USA to support their family, but alas, it isn't. I think that the halt of illegal immigration is a good thing for all involved- people can support their families without breaking the laws of another country, the US has fewer people using resources without paying taxes, etc. Frankly, though, it would be best to just grant amnesty to a good deal of illegal immigrants- as long as we can make the necessary adjustments to Social Security, (that's another issue for another time) they would pay taxes along with contributing to the economy, which would be a very good proposition for a country such as us with a faltering economy.

Thought I might give you all a taste of what's to come.
Blogger is a fairly large server, so I don't expect much attention as a political blogger, but I thought I might as well do SOMETHING. I can always upgrade to a separate website if I ever get any attention (which I doubt).

First of all, I would like to make it clear that (As we are in a fairly turbulent political period) I do NOT support any of the presidential candidates at the moment. I like Obama and what he has to say, but I don't like the fact that he'd go straight at Pakistan given the chance, and I do not like the whole Jeremiah Wright issue. "God Damn America" is a little harsh. I don't like everything about this country, don't get me wrong, and i'm not so patriotic as to have a giant american flag on the back window of my car when I'm old enough to get one, but saying that is just stupid. Hillary is just stupid, and I'd never vote for her, and McCain is a Republican who sticks with many of Bush's policies- that seals the deal for me. I do NOT like anything about what Bush has done in his presidency thus far. He has done a fair job of keeping us safe, yes, but that's not HIM doing it. He signs bills and gives speeches. (Horribly skewered English aside, they're still speeches.) (Almost.)

I realize that as a 14-year-old, my perspective is not going to be the same as an adult's- I haven't experienced as much as most adults have, so I don't be able to judge everything the same way an adult could. Other than that, however, I have a fair bit of confidence in myself and my own beliefs, however premature they may be. So, please, if you're an adult and you're on here, don't criticize me based on the fact that I'm young. If you do, however, you would deserve equal criticism, though I won't delve into such matters.

Alright- Soon I'll have a post ready and i'll be an official political blogger!
